Product description

What are the uses of Amlycure DS?

Aimil Amlycure DS Syrup is an Ayurvedic tonic for a weak liver and poor digestion. It helps when hunger is gone and the stomach feels heavy after a few bites. Or when the body stays weak even after eating well. It has more bhringraj and bhuiamla than any other herb. Kasni seeds and raktapunarnava come next. Used daily, it brings hunger back and helps the liver work properly again.

Quick Facts

  • This syrup should not go in the fridge. Store it in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight.
  • Benefits: It is also given in jaundice. It helps the liver heal. The yellow colour in the eyes slowly goes away.
  • Indications: Given for burning in the chest after meals. Also used for liver damage in people who have been drinking alcohol for years.
  • Dosage: Adults take 2 to 3 teaspoonfuls, three or four times a day. For children, half to 1 teaspoonful, two or three times a day, is enough.
  • Side Effects: Most people take it at the normal dose without any trouble. But nisoth and revand chini in it loosen the bowels, so a much bigger amount than advised can cause loose motions.
  • Baidyanath Punarnava Mandur is often given with it when the person also has low haemoglobin and swollen feet.
  • Get a liver function test done before you start. Repeat it after the course to see how much has changed.

Mooli Swaras (radish juice) is mixed into the sweet syrup base, at 1 ml in every 10 ml. That base also carries raspberry flavour, a red food colour and preservatives so it doesn't spoil.

How These Herbs Help the Liver

  • Bhringraj, bhuiamla, kutaki and kalmegh protect liver cells and help a damaged liver repair itself.
  • When the liver or spleen has grown bigger than normal, rohitaka, sharpunkha and makoya help bring it back to size. Kasni and raktapunarnava reduce the swelling too.
  • Chitrak and kachur help food digest. Vidanga is there for stomach worms.
  • Amla and yashtimadhu cool the stomach and calm acidity.
  • Guduchi and tulsi help the body fight infection. Neem and manjistha go in to clean the blood.
  • Radish juice has long been a home remedy for liver trouble in Indian kitchens.
