Product description

What are the uses of Neeri Syrup?

Aimil Neeri Syrup is an Ayurvedic syrup made to control burning urine and urine infection. It helps when passing urine stings, or the urge keeps coming but only a little comes out. The lower belly may feel heavy too. Punarnava, panchtrin mool (five grass roots) and sugarcane root are the main herbs, used in equal amounts. Gokhru and chharila come next. Slowly, the burning settles and urine passes freely.

Quick Facts

  • Store it in a cool, dry place out of direct sun. It doesn't go in the fridge, not even in peak summer.
  • Benefits: Helps keep the infection from coming back. People who get a UTI every few months take it for this reason too.
  • Indications: Given for swelling in the feet, ankles and face when the body holds on to extra water.
  • Dosage: Adults take 2 teaspoonfuls three times a day. Children take half to 1 teaspoonful, also three times a day. A teaspoonful here means 5 ml.
  • Side Effects: Problems at the normal dose are rare. The yellow food colour in it, tartrazine, can cause itching or a rash in people who are sensitive to it. Stop the syrup if that happens.
  • Chandanasava is often given with it when the burning is strong. It's a cooling tonic made mainly from white sandalwood.
  • Drink water often through the day. And don't hold in urine for long, even at work or on a long drive.

Neeri Syrup Ingredients

Each 10 ml of syrup contains:

Water extracts made from:

  • Punarnava (gadhpurna root): 500 mg
  • Panchtrin Mool (roots of five kinds of grass): 500 mg
  • Ikshu Mool (sugarcane root): 500 mg
  • Gokhru (gokshura fruit): 450 mg
  • Chharilla (pathar phool, a moss-like growth found on rocks): 450 mg
  • Varun (varuna tree bark): 400 mg
  • Kulatha (kulthi, horse gram seeds): 400 mg
  • Pashan Bhed (pashanbhed root): 100 mg
  • Palash (tesu flowers): 100 mg
  • Lajaloo (lajwanti, the touch-me-not plant): 100 mg
  • Makoya (makoy plant): 100 mg
  • Kakri Beej (kakdi seeds): 100 mg
  • Daruharidra (daruhaldi stem): 50 mg

Powders:

  • Sudh Shilajeet (purified shilajit): 200 mg
  • Swet Parpati (made mainly from kalmi shora and phitkari): 150 mg
  • Moolikshar (salt taken from burnt radish plant): 150 mg
  • Sheetal Chini (kabab chini): 100 mg
  • Saindhav Namak (sendha namak, rock salt): 50 mg
  • Sajjikshar (sajji khar, a natural soda salt): 50 mg

The rest of the syrup is the base, along with flavour, colour and preservatives that keep it from spoiling.

How These Ingredients Help the Kidneys and Bladder

  • Punarnava, gokhru, sugarcane root and panchtrin mool make you pass more urine. More urine means the germs get washed out.
  • Pashanbhed, kulthi, chharila and varun are there for stones.
  • Acidic urine is what stings on the way out. Swet parpati and the three salts (moolikshar, sajjikhar and rock salt) make it less acidic.
  • Kakri seeds, palash flowers, makoy and lajwanti calm the burning and irritation inside.
  • Germs are kept down by sheetal chini and daruharidra.
  • Shilajit is added to give strength to the bladder and kidneys.
