Product description

What are the uses of Pudin Hara?

Dabur Pudin Hara Pearls is an Ayurvedic medicine made to give quick, cooling relief from acidity, gas and stomach pain. It helps with burning in the chest after meals, sour burps, a bloated stomach and cramping pain. Each pearl is filled mostly with mint oil. A little spearmint oil is added too. It calms the burning in the chest and stomach, and trapped gas starts to come out.

Quick Facts

  • No mixing in water and no measuring. The Pudin Hara content stays sealed in a soft gel shell that opens only in the stomach, so the strong mint oil never burns the mouth or throat.
  • Benefits: Helps food digest when the stomach feels heavy and too full after a big or oily meal. Good to keep handy during weddings and festivals, when people eat late and eat too much.
  • Other Pudin Hara capsule uses include nausea, when the stomach feels uneasy and you feel like throwing up.
  • Pudin Hara dosage for adults is 1 pearl, two or three times a day. Swallow it whole with half to one glass of water.
  • Side Effects: Nothing serious is known at the normal dose. Rarely, someone is allergic to mint. The yellow food colour in the shell can also cause itching or a rash in people sensitive to it. If either happens, stop taking it.
  • When acidity has gone on for months, Dhootapapeshwar Sootashekhar Rasa Gold is often taken along with it. It is a gold tablet used daily as a course.
  • Don't lie down for two hours after a meal. Lying flat lets the acid come back up into the chest.

Pudin Hara Ingredients

Each pearl holds these two oils:

  • Mentha Oil (pudina oil): 0.174 ml
  • Spearmint Oil (garden mint oil): 0.034 ml
  • Colours: Brilliant Blue FCF, Tartrazine Yellow
  • Preservatives: Methylparaben IP, Propylparaben IP

Everything else is the soft gel shell that keeps the oil sealed in.

How These Two Oils Help Your Stomach

  • Mentha oil is full of menthol. Menthol is what makes mint feel cool in your mouth. It gives the same cool feeling inside the chest and stomach.
  • When the stomach cramps, its muscles get tight. Mint oil helps these muscles relax, so the pain goes down.
  • Spearmint oil is a milder mint. It helps the mentha oil push out gas. Your burps after a pearl will also taste of mint.
