Product description

What are the uses of Arsha Hita Ointment?

Dhootapapeshwar Arsha Hita Ointment is an Ayurvedic medicine made to control the pain and bleeding of piles and fissures. It helps when blood comes with the stool, the anus burns and hurts, or itching keeps coming back. It is made mainly from the gum of a tree called sarja. Bhimseni kapoor and til oil are also in it. With regular use, the bleeding stops and stool passes easily without straining.

Quick Facts

  • It is an ointment for outside use only, and it is never swallowed. Close the cap tight after every use. Camphor slowly evaporates when the tube is left open.
  • Benefits — A fissure is a small cut at the edge of the anus. Every hard stool tears it open again. This ointment helps that cut heal. It also brings down the swelling of piles, so they feel less sore.
  • Indications — Given for both kinds of piles. Internal piles stay inside and mostly bleed. External piles sit around the opening. They swell up and hurt more.
  • Dosage — Apply a thin layer before passing stool and once more after it. Wash your hands before and after each use.
  • Side Effects — Nothing serious is seen with normal use. People allergic to til should not use it. Keep the tube away from small children, as camphor is harmful if swallowed. Bleeding that is heavy or dark, or that goes on for more than a week, needs a doctor's check. It is best used under medical supervision.
  • Dhootapapeshwar Arsha Hita Tablets are often used along with the ointment. The tablets are taken by mouth. Using both together gives better relief, mainly when piles keep coming back.
  • Don't sit on the toilet with your phone. Sitting there for a long time pushes blood down into the veins near the anus, and the piles swell more. Get up within five minutes.

Arsha Hita Ointment Ingredients: Sarja Gum, Camphor and Til Oil

Every 10 g of the ointment contains:

  • Sarja exudate choorna (safed damar gum powder): 1.600 g
  • Karpoora Bhimseni, sublimated extract (Bhimseni kapoor): 0.300 g
  • Tila taila (til oil): 6.420 g
  • Madhoochchhishta (beeswax): as much as needed to set it

Til oil makes up almost two thirds of the tube. It keeps the skin soft, so stool slides out without rubbing hard on the sore spot. Sarja is a tall tree that grows in the Western Ghats. Its gum dries hard and white, and it's ground very fine before it goes in. This gum is the part that helps a cut heal. Bhimseni kapoor is natural camphor from the camphor tree. It is not the same as the camphor tablets burnt during puja. It gives a cool feeling, and that calms the burning and itching. And beeswax thickens the oil, so the ointment stays in place instead of running off.

Do's and Don'ts While Using Arsha Hita Ointment

What to Eat

Eat light food that digests easily. Suran (jimikand) is the vegetable most often given in piles, so cook it often. Green leafy sabzi, chichinda (snake gourd), moong and masoor dal all suit. Amla and grapes are good fruits to pick. Drink chaas, and goat milk if you can get it. Butter without salt is fine. Keep sipping lukewarm water through the day.

What to Avoid

Spicy and oily food makes the burning worse, so skip it. Leave out stale food and anything fermented. Curd, urad dal and matar are out too. So is khar or soda in cooking. Don't overeat, and don't sit down to a meal when you aren't hungry. With food, drink only a little water. Not too much, and not none at all.

Lifestyle

Don't sit on a hard seat for hours. Put a cushion under you. Never push or strain in the toilet. Go when the urge comes, because holding back stool makes it hard and dry. Sleep on time at night and skip the afternoon nap. A daily walk keeps the bowels moving. Wash the area after every visit and keep it dry. Go easy on sex until the piles settle.
