What are the uses of Drakshovin Special?
Dhootapapeshwar Drakshovin Special is an Ayurvedic tonic made to improve appetite and digestion and to build strength in the body and mind. It helps when hunger is low, a little food makes the stomach feel heavy, you always feel tired and you can't focus on studies or work. Munakka is its most important herb. Ashwagandha and brahmi go in too. Taken daily, food digests well, the body gets stronger and the mind stays calm.
Quick Facts:
- Ingredients: Shatavari and vidarikand build strength. Sonth, pippali, kali mirch, chitrak and dalchini help your hunger come back. Vach helps memory and focus. Arjun bark is added for the heart, and khus with safed and lal chandan to keep the body cool. Harad, mulethi, haldi, daruhaldi, manjishtha and nagarmotha go in as well.
- It is a mix of one asava and two arishtas: Drakshasava, Ashwagandharishta and Saraswatarishta. All three are fermented with dhai flowers and jaggery, so up to 11% alcohol forms in it on its own.
- Benefits: Nishoth in the mix helps clear the stomach, so older people who deal with constipation find it useful. Brahmi also helps bring back proper sleep when exam stress or worry keeps someone awake.
- Indications: Given for children who eat poorly and stay dull and sluggish, adults worn out by irregular meals and late nights, and older people whose body is weak and memory is fading.
- Dosage: 10 to 15 ml, which is 2 to 3 teaspoonfuls, twice a day, mixed with the same amount of lukewarm water. Shake the bottle well before pouring.
- Side Effects: Nothing much is reported at the normal dose. Taking far more than that can cause a burning feeling in the stomach, and the nishoth in it can make stools loose. It is avoided in pregnancy. Skip it if you stay away from alcohol completely.
- For students with exams coming up, Dhootapapeshwar Medhasagar Rasa is often given with it to help memory and focus.
- Eat at fixed times and keep sweets and fried snacks low between meals. Both kill the hunger this tonic is trying to bring back.
