Product description

What are the uses of Lakshadi Guggulu?

Dhootapapeshwar Lakshadi Guggulu is an Ayurvedic tablet that helps a broken bone join faster. It is useful when a fracture is slow to heal, the injured spot stays swollen, or moving the arm or leg brings sharp pain. Lac and hadjod are mixed into guggulu gum. Arjun bark, ashwagandha and nagabala are in it too. With regular use, the bone joins firmly and strength comes back after the injury.

Quick Facts

  • It is a guggulu, one of the gum-based tablets Ayurveda gives mostly for bone, joint and nerve trouble. Each tablet breaks down in the stomach in less than 30 minutes.
  • Benefits — With age, bones can become thin and weak. Then even a small fall at home can break them. This happens a lot in older people, and in women after their periods stop. This tablet helps make such bones strong again. It also reduces the pain in them.
  • Indications — Sprained ankles and wrists, where the bone is fine but the soft parts around the joint are hurt. It is also taken for low back pain, and for knees worn out with age.
  • Dosage — Take 2 to 4 tablets after a meal, two or three times a day. Dashamoolarishta, cow's milk or lukewarm water can be taken with them.
  • Side Effects — Most people have no trouble at the normal dose. Arjun can bring blood pressure down a little, so anyone already on BP tablets should keep checking their readings. It is not for pregnant women or breastfeeding mothers. People who get kidney stones should avoid it too.
  • Unjha Navratna Ras is often taken with it when a long recovery has left the whole body weak.
  • Morning sun helps the bones. Sit out for 15 to 20 minutes on most days with your arms bare. The skin makes vitamin D in sunlight, and bones can't use calcium properly without it.

Lakshadi Guggulu Ingredients: Lac, Hadjod, Arjun and More

Each tablet has 250 mg of active ingredients:

  • Shodhit Laksha (laakh): 25.000 mg
  • Asthisamhruta stem (hadjod): 25.000 mg
  • Arjuna stem bark (arjun chaal): 25.000 mg
  • Ashvagandha root (ashwagandha): 25.000 mg
  • Nagabala root (nagabala): 25.000 mg
  • Shodhit Guggulu, Dashamoola shodhit (guggulu gum): 125.000 mg

Preservatives: sodium benzoate, sodium methyl paraben and sodium propyl paraben.

Half the weight of laxadi guggulu is the gum, and it is there to bring down pain and swelling. The other half is shared equally by five things. Lac is made by tiny insects that live on trees like ber and palash. It's the same laakh that lac bangles are made from, and in Ayurveda it is used to help broken bones join. Hadjod is a creeper with thick, four-sided stems. Across India, it is the best-known herb for fractures. Arjun bark is better known as a heart herb. But it is rich in natural calcium, and that is why it is here. Weeks of rest leave the muscles around a broken bone thin and weak. Ashwagandha and nagabala help them fill out and get strong again.

Do's and Don'ts While Taking Lakshadi Guggulu

What to Eat

Red rice and wheat roti both suit this medicine. For dal, moong, urad and kulthi (horse gram) are all good. Til (sesame), garlic, chichinda (snake gourd) and baingan can go into daily meals. Ber and mango are the fruits to pick. Cow's milk and a spoon of cow ghee on the roti help as well. Regular cooking oil is fine.

What to Avoid

Rice from the new harvest is heavy. Skip it for now. Chana, matar and jau (barley) are out too. Karela, jamun, kamal gatta (lotus seeds) and supari should not be eaten either. Stay away from dry or frozen meat, foods with a kasaila taste like raw banana, and anything made with khar or soda. And drink water at room temperature, not straight from the fridge.

Lifestyle

Never massage a fresh fracture. Once the bone has joined, the stiff joint near it can be rubbed gently with AVP Kottamchukkadi Thailam. A hot water bag on stiff, aching muscles helps too. While on laxadi guggulu, sleep on time and keep worry and tension low. Late nights and stress both slow down healing. Don't hold back urine or motions when the urge comes. Keep sex limited until the course is over.
