Product description

What are the uses of Mahamanjishthadi Kadha?

Dhootapapeshwar Mahamanjishthadi Kadha is an Ayurvedic tonic made to purify the blood and bring common skin problems under control. It helps when boils and pimples keep coming up, the skin itches and dark spots stay on the face. Named after manjishtha, it has over forty herbs. Anantmool root goes in at double the amount of most others. With regular use, the skin slowly clears and looks brighter.

Quick Facts:

  • Ingredients — Neem bark, khadir wood and karanj bark are in it for itching and boils. Haldi and daruhaldi help the skin heal. For a clear stomach there's harad, baheda, amla and amaltas. Kutki is there for the liver, giloy for immunity. Sonth, pippali and chitrak help digestion. Vasa, kutaj, devdar and lal chandan go in too.
  • It is a kadha. The herbs are boiled down in water and strained. Dhataki flowers are added to this liquid and it's left to ferment, so a little alcohol forms in it by itself, just like in an arishta.
  • Benefits — Useful for eczema too, and for cuts or small wounds that stay raw and take a long time to heal.
  • Indications — Besides the skin, it is given for gout and filaria. Gout is the painful swelling in a joint, very often the big toe, that comes with high uric acid. In filaria, a leg swells up and stays thick and heavy.
  • Dosage — 10 to 20 ml (2 to 4 teaspoonfuls) twice a day. Mix each dose with the same amount of lukewarm water.
  • Side Effects — Hardly any trouble shows up at the normal dose. Take more than that and loose motions with some cramping can follow. Not for pregnant women, as nishoth and indrayan in it act strongly on the bowels.
  • Baidyanath Kaishore Guggulu tablets are often swallowed with a dose of this kadha, mostly when gout and skin trouble show up together.
  • Cut down on fried food and pickles while you're on it. Skip curd at night as well.
