Product description

What are the uses of Mahayogaraj Guggul?

Dhootapapeshwar Mahayogaraj Guggul is an Ayurvedic tablet for arthritis and long-lasting joint pain. It helps with knees that hurt all day, stiff fingers and joints on waking up, and a big toe that suddenly swells up red. Its main part is guggulu, the gum of a thorny tree. Ashes of iron, silver, mica and more also go in. With regular use, stiff joints loosen and walking gets easier.

Quick Facts:

  • It is a guggulu. In this type of medicine, all the powders are mixed into soft guggulu gum like dough and then made into tablets. No other glue is needed to hold them together.
  • Benefits — It is also given for lower back pain that runs down one leg, called sciatica, and for a stiff, aching neck. It is not meant for a fresh sprain or injury.
  • Indications — Given for paralysis, where one side of the body or one arm or leg goes weak. Also for fits (epilepsy), but only along with the regular fit medicine, never in place of it.
  • Dosage — 2 to 4 tablets, two or three times a day, after food. Swallow them with Dashamoolarishta, Maharasnadi Kadha or lukewarm water.
  • Side Effects — Most people don't face any trouble at the normal dose. Pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers and children should not take it. Nor should anyone with kidney or liver disease.
  • AVP Ksheerabala (101) Capsules can be taken with it when the pain comes with numbness or tingling in the hands and feet.
  • Extra body weight presses on the knees and ankles all day. If you are overweight, losing even 4 or 5 kilos takes a lot of that load off.

Mahayograj Guggulu has twenty herbs and spices at about 1 mg each, like hing, sonth, pippali, chitrak, jeera and ajmod. They warm the stomach and cut down gas. This matters, since vata pain often comes with a bloated, heavy stomach. Harad, baheda and amla together make triphala. It keeps constipation away. Mandur ash is a form of iron and helps build blood. And ras sindoor is added so the rest of the tablet works faster.

Do's and Don'ts While Taking Mahayograj Guggulu

What to Eat

Cow's milk and cow ghee. Wheat roti, urad dal, kulthi dal, and red rice in place of white rice. Til and oil in cooking are fine too. For vegetables, chichinda (snake gourd) and baingan, with some lahsun in the food. Ripe mango and ber are good fruits to have.

What to Avoid

Chana, matar and jau. Jamun, kamal gatta, supari, gular and karela. Chilled water from the fridge. Khar, the salt used in making papad. Dried or frozen meat. Also cut down on food with a kasaila taste.

Lifestyle

A gentle massage with warm medicated oil, followed by warm sek, helps stiff joints. AVP Narayana Thailam is often used for this. Ayurveda also treats joint pain with basti, where medicated oil or kadha is put in through the anus. Treatments that make a person vomit or clear out the bowels are used too. None of these should be tried at home. A proper Panchakarma centre does them. Try not to stay up late or put too much strain on the mind. Don't hold back urine or stool when you feel the urge, and keep sex within limits.
