Product description

What are the uses of Panchtikta Ghrit Guggulu?

Dhootapapeshwar Panchatikta Ghruta Guggulu is an Ayurvedic tablet made to control skin diseases that keep coming back. It helps when scaly patches form, itching goes on day and night, or gout leaves a joint swollen and red. It has five bitter herbs. Neem and giloy are two of them. Guggulu gum, haldi and manjishtha are also added. Taken regularly, itching and patches reduce and joint swelling goes down.

Quick Facts

  • It is a guggulu, and one of very few made with cow ghee. Bitter herbs can leave the body dry, and the ghee stops that from happening. This matters when the skin is already rough and cracked.
  • Benefits — It helps clean the blood. Pimples and boils that keep coming back start to reduce. Old wounds that are slow to heal get better too. In gout, the painful attacks come less often.
  • Indications — Given for piles, and for fistula, which is a small wound near the back passage that keeps leaking pus. It is also taken for sinus and for an old cough with breathlessness. It is used in diabetes and low haemoglobin as well, and in some heart problems.
  • Dosage — 2 to 4 tablets, two or three times a day, best after meals. Swallow them with Mahamanjishthadi kadha, Khadirarishta or plain lukewarm water.
  • Side Effects — At the normal dose, problems are rare. One of the herbs is bhilawa, and a few people's skin reacts to it. If new redness, burning or small blisters show up after you start, stop the tablets. Pregnant women and mothers who are breastfeeding should not take it.
  • For itching that won't let you sleep, or skin that gets infected from scratching, Baidyanath Gandhak Rasayan is often added alongside.
  • Bathe in lukewarm water, not hot. Hot water pulls the oil out of the skin, and dry skin itches more.

  • Yavakshara (jau khar): 5.000 mg
  • Svarjeekshara (sajji khar): 5.000 mg
  • Jyotishmati taila (malkangni oil): 5.000 mg
  • Powders of the following, 5.000 mg each:
    • Patha root (paatha)
    • Vidanga fruit (vaividang)
    • Devadaru heartwood (devdar)
    • Gajapippali fruit (gajpipal)
    • Shunthi rhizome (sonth)
    • Haridra rhizome (haldi)
    • Shatahva fruit (suva)
    • Chavya stem (chavya)
    • Kulanjana rhizome (kulanjan)
    • Maricha fruit (kali mirch)
    • Indrayava seed (indrajau)
    • Jeeraka Shveta fruit (safed jeera)
    • Chitraka root (chitrak)
    • Katuka rhizome (kutki)
    • Shodhit Bhallataka fruit (bhilawa)
    • Vacha rhizome (vach)
    • Pippalimoola root (pipramool)
    • Manjishtha stem (manjishtha)
    • Ativisha root (atees)
    • Haritaki fruit rind (harad)
    • Bibhitaka fruit rind (baheda)
    • Amalaki fruit rind (amla)
    • Yavani fruit (ajwain)

The whole powdered mix is ground in the kadha of neem chaal, giloy, parwal patta and kateri. Fresh adusa leaf juice is added the same way before the tablets are pressed.

Preservatives: sodium benzoate, sodium methyl paraben and sodium propyl paraben.

Sonth, ajwain, safed jeera and pipramool help the stomach digest food. In Ayurveda, old skin trouble often starts with weak digestion. Vaividang and indrajau clear worms from the gut. Kutki helps the liver. And devdar, vach and atees are there for stiff, aching joints.

Do's and Don'ts While Taking Panchtikta Ghrit Guggulu

What to Eat

Wheat roti, rice and jau (barley) can be the main food. Moong is the dal to choose. Chichinda (snake gourd), garlic and green leafy sabzi are good in daily meals. Cow's milk and a little honey are fine. Cook in cow ghee, til oil or mustard oil. A pinch of jaiphal (nutmeg) in food is good too.

What to Avoid

Sour things like imli and pickle should be stopped for now. Urad dal, matar and kulthi (horse gram) are heavy, so skip them. Leave out gur and sugarcane juice as well. No alcohol. Milk and banana should never be taken together, which means banana shake is out. And eat only when you feel hungry. Stop before the stomach is too full.

Lifestyle

Rub Baidyanath Mahamarichyadi Tail gently on dry, itchy patches and leave it on for a while before your bath. Scratching makes patches thicker, so keep your nails short. Skip the afternoon nap during the course. Heavy exercise and very hard physical work are best avoided too. When you need the toilet, go; holding it in does harm. Cut down on sex while taking the tablets.
