Product description

What are the uses of Kaleda Chyawanprash Gold?

Krishna Gopal Kaleda Gold Chyawanprash is an Ayurvedic tonic made to remove weakness and build strength. It helps with getting tired quickly, frequent cold and cough, breathlessness after a short walk and weak memory. Its base is fresh amla, roasted in cow ghee and sesame oil. Gold ash and kesar are also mixed in. Taken daily, it brings back energy, and the body falls sick less when seasons change.

Quick Facts

  • More than 50 herbs, spices and minerals go into it.
  • Benefits: Brings a healthy glow to the face. Men who feel low on stamina and vigor get help from it too.
  • Indications: Given for the weakness that stays after TB or a long chest illness. It is also used for a weak heart and for gout.
  • Dosage: 5 to 10 g at a time. A weak or elderly person takes the smaller amount, and a strong adult takes the bigger one.
  • Side Effects: Rasa sindoor and bhasmas are part of it, so never raise the amount on your own. Too much can bring loose motions or acidity.
  • For people who feel tired and stressed at the same time, Ashwagandharishta is often taken after meals along with it.
  • Always take it out with a dry spoon. A wet spoon lets moisture in, and the chyawanprash can spoil.

  • Abhraka Bhasma, 100 Puti (mica ash, fired 100 times): 30 g
  • Yashada Bhasma (zinc ash): 12.5 g
  • Svarna Bhasma (gold ash): 1 g
  • Keshar (saffron): 23 g

How These Ingredients Help

  • Amla is rich in vitamin C, which helps the body fight infections.
  • The ten herbs from bilva to gokhru together make dashmool. They calm cough and make breathing easier.
  • Adusa, kakdasingi, pushkarmool and peepal clear mucus from the chest.
  • Strength and healthy weight come from the ashtavarga herbs, vidarikand, bala and munakka.
  • Abhrak bhasma works on weak lungs. Yashad bhasma adds zinc, which the body needs to fight infection.
  • The heart and the mind get support from gold ash and kesar.
  • Dalchini, elaichi, tejpat and nagkesar help the body digest the ghee and sugar in it.

What is ashtavarga?

Ashtavarga is a set of eight rare herbs. Their names are riddhi, vriddhi, kakoli, ksheerkakoli, meda, mahameda, jivak and rishabhak. They grow high up in the Himalayas and are very hard to find. In chyawanprash, they are there to give strength and help a thin body gain weight.

Since these herbs are rare and costly, many makers use common herbs in their place, like ashwagandha and shatavari. Ayurveda allows this. But the real eight herbs are part of the original recipe.

Point by point

  • Gold: Both have swarna bhasma. The amount is about the same in both.
  • Ashtavarga: Kaleda has all eight real herbs. Swamala Compound uses vidarikand, varahi, ashwagandha and shatavari in their place, and it has no vriddhi at all.
  • Abhrak bhasma: Kaleda has about six times more. That makes it the better choice for weak lungs and a cough that keeps coming back. Abhrak bhasma also has some iron in it. But Swamala Compound has kantaloha bhasma, which is made mostly of iron. So Swamala Compound gives more iron overall and suits people with low blood better.
  • Coral: Only Swamala Compound has praval pishti, which is made from coral. It adds calcium.
  • Zinc: Only Kaleda has yashad bhasma.
  • Silver: Only Swamala Compound has rajat bhasma.
  • Mercury-based medicine: Both have one. Kaleda has about 5 mg of rasa sindoor. Swamala Compound has 14 mg of makardhwaj. So Kaleda has less of this type of medicine.
  • Kesar: Only Kaleda has kesar.
  • Honey and oil: Swamala Compound has honey. Kaleda has no honey, but it has sesame oil along with ghee.
  • Price: For the same 500 g jar, Swamala Compound has the lower MRP.

Which one is better value?

For low blood and general weakness, Swamala Compound is the better fit. For weak lungs, a cough that keeps coming back and overall strength, Kaleda is the better choice. It costs more per jar, but for that money it gives the real ashtavarga herbs, kesar and far more abhrak bhasma. That makes Kaleda the better value.
