What are the uses of Rasnasaptak Kadha?

Dhootapapeshwar Rasnasaptak Kadha is an Ayurvedic tonic made to remove stiffness in the lower back and neck. It helps when the back stiffens after sitting for a while, the neck hurts to turn and the back aches on bending. It has rasna and six other herbs in equal amounts. Giloy and gokhru are two of them. Taken regularly, the back and neck loosen up and bending gets easier.

• Ingredients — Castor root and devadaru wood ease pain and stiffness. Red punarnava root is there for swelling. Amaltas fruit pulp is added to stop constipation, because back pain often gets worse when the stomach isn't clean.
• It is a kadha. The herbs are boiled in water and then strained. Dhai flowers are part of it as well. They make it ferment, so a small amount of natural alcohol forms in it on its own. A preservative also keeps it from going bad in the bottle.
• Benefits — Useful when several small joints, like the fingers and wrists, swell and hurt at the same time, and the body feels heavy with little hunger.
• Indications — Given for stiff legs, pain in the thighs and along both sides of the body, and other problems of the muscles and bones.
• Dosage — Two times a day, 10 to 20 ml each time, which is 2 to 4 teaspoonfuls. Pour an equal amount of lukewarm water into it and drink.
• Side Effects — Most people have no trouble at the normal dose. More than that can make the stools loose. Someone with bad acidity or a stomach ulcer may feel a burning after taking it. It's usually not given in pregnancy.
• Dhootapapeshwar Rasarajeshwar Rasa is often taken with it when an X-ray shows the bones of the neck or lower back have started to wear out.
• Keep away from cold drinks and curd while on this kadha, more so at night. A hot water bag on the lower back before bed helps too.
