What are the uses of Dhootapapeshwar Shatavari Kalpa?
Dhootapapeshwar Shatavari Kalpa is an Ayurvedic tonic that removes weakness in women and increases breast milk in nursing mothers. It helps when milk is low after delivery, you get tired after a little work, and you fall sick often. Shatavari root does the main work. Every 10 g has extract from 4 g of the root. Taken daily, it nourishes the body and the tiredness slowly goes away.

- It is a kalpa, which means the shatavari extract is mixed with sugar and dried into small sweet grains. A pinch of fine elaichi seed powder goes into the shatavari kalpa granules for a mild smell, and it helps the stomach digest the milk it is taken with. It also contains sodium benzoate, which keeps it safe from spoiling.

Benefits — Shatavari is cooling, so it helps with acidity and a burning feeling in the stomach. Men take it as well, for low stamina and sexual weakness.

Indications — Given for heavy or irregular periods, slow recovery after a long illness and a weak uterus.

Dosage — Take 5 to 10 g (1 to 2 teaspoonfuls) twice a day. It is best taken with milk.
- Side Effects — Nothing much is reported at the normal dose. Some people get gas or a heavy, bloated stomach, mostly when their digestion is already slow. People allergic to asparagus, onion or garlic can react to shatavari too, so they should skip it.

Dashamoolarishta is often given with it in the first weeks after delivery, to ease back pain and help the womb get back to normal.
- Always use a dry spoon. Even a little water makes the granules sticky and lumpy. Keep the lid shut tight after every use.
