What are the uses of Paripathadi Kadha?
Dhootapapeshwar Paripathadi Kadha is an Ayurvedic tonic made to control burning in the body and pimples that keep coming back. It helps when the body feels hot all day, red rashes appear and small pimples burn. Paripatha, a small plant, is used at over double the amount of any other herb. Pitpapda and chirayata are added generously. With regular use, slowly, the body cools and the pimples dry up.
Quick Facts:
- Ingredients — Neem bark and parwal leaves are added for the skin. White and red chandan go in with khas, sugandhbala and gulab flowers for coolness. Kutki and giloy help the liver. Some haldi is also added. Adusa, nagarmotha, amaltas pulp, mulethi, padal bark, dhamasa, amla and munakka make up the rest.
- It is a kadha by name, but it is made the way an arishta is. The herbs are boiled in water, and the liquid is then left to ferment. Dhai flowers are what start the fermenting. The fermenting makes some alcohol, not more than 11%, and none is added from outside.
- Benefits — It helps weak digestion as well. Food gets digested properly and hunger comes back at meal times.
- Indications — Given for skin trouble that comes from high pitta, small blisters filled with water and sweating far more than normal.
- Dosage — 10 to 20 ml, which is 2 to 4 teaspoonfuls, twice a day. Mix in the same amount of lukewarm water before drinking.
- Side Effects — Trouble at the normal dose is rare. Taking more than that can cause loose motions, because amaltas and kutki both loosen the bowels. Pregnant women should not take it.
- When the pimples turn big and fill with pus, Baidyanath Kaishore Guggulu is taken along with it.
- Don't squeeze or scratch the pimples while they heal. And eat less pickle and fried food until the skin clears up.
